Mick has been Keep and breeding birds since 1969 and has been full dedicated
to a large collect since 1985 and full time Aviculturist since 1991. I have
bred many species of psittacine and Finches/Doves/quails plus other bird species
and incubated many eggs and hand-raised well over a thousand baby birds.

have also severed as Secretary of the Lovebird Society of Queensland for 2 years
in the late 1980’s, I also served on the committee of the Avicultural
Society of Queensland for four year, I was also the Central Queensland Representative
for the Rockhampton Branch of Avicultural Society of Queensland for six year
in the mid 1990’s. I have also severed on serval other committees of Poultry
clubs and showing Society . So I have street creditability in Avicultural Industry.
Number 3: I was a Private Aviculturist registered with the former NEBRS (National Exotic Bird Registration Scheme) to keep Exotic Birds and also licensed under the National Conservation Act;
Number 4: I am a Private Aviculturist registered in Queensland with a Recreational Specialist Licence enabling me to keep all specialist birds
Number 5: As well as being a hobbyist in Aviculture for the last 36 years keeping both native and exotic species of parrots, finches, quails, pheasants, and the complete broad spectrum including exotic softbills in Queensland for the past 36 years.
Number 6: I am a published writer of many articles on Aviculture in both magazines
here in Australia and overseas.
Number 7: I am and have been a Bird show judge for over 18 years first qualified in 1987 under Chef Judge Mr Terry White.
Mick feels fully qualified to answer most questions about the following topics:
1.Aviary & caging, nestboxes, to help aid for the successful breeding of
birds
2. questions regarding aggression in pairs or problems pairing- to help aid in the prevention of injury
3. egg incubation eg: turning, temperatures, humidity, problem hatches, and incubation equipment
4. nursery setup eg: , brooders and other equipment, and cleaning/disinfections
regimens
5. hand-feeding of parrots and also of Finch species (i.e. Gouldians Cutthroats
plus doves and pigeon) topics suggested eg: formulas, equipment, techniques,
problems, weaning times, weaning foods, socialization
6. general husbandry questions about breeding birds
7. SORRY We cannot give Vet medical advice !
8. Written response to Government reports
9. Written draft copy for Submission to Government Departments like DEH, NPWS etc.
RATES: Questions can be submitted in writing by email or fax or telephone consultations are available. The charge to answer written questions is quoted after the questions are submitted and is based upon the complexity of the questions and the time involved to answer them.
Telephone consultations are based
upon time and questions must be submitted in writing beforehand.
15 minutes (minimum) - $55.00
30 minutes - $75.00
60 minutes - $120.00

Face to face consultations and aviary appraisals are based upon traveling time and expenses as well as time in writing reports . Cost start from minimum $300 up .
Traveling time is charged at $45 per hour.
Travel expenses are charged at cost price including taxes etc.
Consultation will be charged at $160 per hour no site
report writing will be charged at $75 per (average of four hours per report)
